About the event

Looking outwards at nature and inwards at ourselves can change our relationship to both in wonderful ways.

Join Max Martin, the Ecology Centre’s Nature and Wellbeing Coordinator, as he gives an introduction to how an appreciation for nature and an awareness of the self can help to bring harmony into your life. Whether you just want to to relax better, improve your mental health, create a better relationship with the natural world, or are just intrigued by this emerging field of understanding, this will be a fascinating talk!

Mindfulness in Nature is the practice of paying attention while you are outside, using techniques from modern mindfulness to wilderness guiding to forest therapy. Max will discuss some of the history, theory and research behind the benefits of these practices and share some of his favourite techniques for connecting with the wonder of nature. There will be another event in July which will take place in person and focus on practising some of these techniques in Holland Parks’ wildlife area.
